An exhibition of Meiyu Niwa’s works was held at the five-star Auberge de jeu de Paume Chantilly in northern France.
Dates: Friday, July 3 – Friday, October 30, 2020
Venue: Auberge de jeu de Paume Chantilly
In the fall of 2019, Niwa’s participation in the Triennale de Paris led to her participation in the Jazzeries d’Hiver, an event held at the hotel in January 2020. The works exhibited in the hotel attracted a lot of attention as they created a new breeze in the space.
The hotel was forced to temporarily close due to the spread of the Covid-19 infection, but the hotel endured a period of severe self-restraint and reopened in July. On the occasion of the reopening of the hotel, Niwa’s works were again displayed at the hotel at the suggestion of the hotel.
Niwa’s works, displayed in the lounge space where guests could relax and other spaces in the hotel, refreshed those who came to the hotel to find comfort in the midst of the harsh Covid-19 era and brought them a moment of deep healing.
